For Becca,
every new
friend was
met with
the same
question:
“Do you
have a
dog?”
Rebeccah Williams was a student at Monroe County ISD who loved dogs more than anything. After we lost her on December 20, 2020, her family built this foundation to put a facility dog in every Michigan school to ensure every student having a hard day has a companion to help comfort them.

— OUR MISSION
Michigan has 58 Intermediate School Districts — regional school systems that serve every student in the state, with a focus on kids who need extra support. Our goal is a professionally trained facility dog in all 58.
We partner with Paws for Cause to train and place dogs alongside a designated handler. Once placed, the dog stays with the school for the length of its working life — roughly eight years of comfort, routine, and unconditional presence.
— HOW A PLACEMENT WORKS
From a family’s loss to a classroom’s comfort.
01
A school applies
ISDs and districts apply through our apply page. We look at need, handler readiness, and community fit.
02
We fund the dog
A placement costs roughly $10,000 covering training with Paws for Cause. Your donations fund this.
03
The dog goes home to school
The dog is paired with a designated handler (usually a counselor or teacher) and becomes part of the school staff.
04
We keep in touch
Photos, successes, and celebrations, we want to hear it all so we can share it back with our incredible supporters.
Four dogs. Three counties. Many more to come.
From Our handlers“Marley continues to amaze! She loves going to school everyday and has made the best relationships with our students.”
